From Laird Raceway – The 2012 race season is just one week in the books and the Laird International Raceway continues to add new elements for the enjoyment of it’s fans.

Last Thursday when the younger fans at LIR got ready to watch their heroes battle for the checkered flag on-track there was a new “friend” for them off the track. Track management was excited and proud to introduce “Lairdy the Lion” as the new mascot of LIR. Lairdy will be at the track every week throughout the upcoming summer to interact, play and greet our younger race fans along with taking part in various events involving the children.

And now as we prepare for our next race event – Thursday, June 14th – the new facility features continue. Grandstand admission fans will now notice a pair of timed specials for them to take advantage of.

A “Beat the Clock” general admission pricing will take effect starting this week. Any fan entering the main grandstand before 6 p.m. will save $1 off their general admission purchase.

Meanwhile a “Champ Special” has been introduced at the track’s concession stand.  Fans can choose between a hamburger or sausage and pair it with fries and a pop for just $4.99 between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Some great savings for our great fans.

LIR is committed to the enjoyment of it’s fans and are focused on building momentum as the summer continues to move on.

We hope to see everyone’s backside, trackside once again this Thursday Night for another exciting week of Thursday Night Thunder featuring Twisted Toyz Motorsports Super Late Models, Caswell Concrete Products Outlaw Modifieds, LIR Modifieds, Maitland Motors Factory Stocks, KM Construction Xtreme Fours and Leisure Living Factory Fours.

Time trials are set for 6 p.m. with racing to follow at 7 p.m.
