Weekend Preview: Weekend of May 25th – 30th
Friday, May 25th - Delaware Speedway has undergone many changes during the offseason and will get its 2012 schedule underway with the Pre-Season Shootout. Late Models, Super Stocks and Trucks will all compete for the first checkered flags of the year at the London, Ontario area track. Spectator gates open at 6pm with racing starting at 8pm. Friday, May 25th - Humberstone Speedway in Port Colborne, Ontario will give fans the opportunity to get up and close to their favourite drivers with an autograph session this week. Racing action features the Fastrak Late Models, DIRTcar Sportsman, Street Stocks, Pro 4 Trucks, Mini Stocks and Pure Stocks. Gates open at 6pm while racing gets underway at 7:15pm. Friday, May 25th - Ohsweken Speedway will open the gates for the first time in 2012 after three weeks of practice. A full slate of Friday Night Thunder is on tap including the Corr/Pak Sprint Cars, Thunder Stocks, Mini Stocks and Bombers. Also on the card will be the International Modified Lite Championship Tour. Saturday, May 26th - Barrie Speedway will open its gates for week four of competition just outside Barrie, Ontario. Limited Late Models, Thunder Cars, Pure Stocks, King of the Hill and the Ontario Legends Series are all on the docket for Saturday night. Saturday, May 26th - Brighton Speedway will see all five of its regular divisions return to action after the first visit by the SOS last week. On the schedule are the DIRTcar Pro Late Models, Canadian Modifieds, Pro Stocks, Comp 4 and Stongers. Grandstands open at 5pm and the racing begins at 7pm. Saturday, May 26th - Brockville Ontario Speedway returns to action for the third week of the season with DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, DIRTcar Sportsman, Street Stocks, and Rookies on the card. Saturday, May 26th - Emo Speedway has a full slate on tap for its second night of competition with the Emo Walleye Classic & Drivers Introduction Night. Fans will also get to decide who will take home the Best Appearing car awards. All three regular divisions will take to the track featuring the WISSOTA Modifieds, Midwest Modifieds and Street Stocks. Saturday, May 26th - Flamboro Speedway will be dishing out double points on Saturday night for the Late Models, Thunder Cars, Mini Stocks, and Pure Stocks. Fans will also get to see the entertaining 3/4 scale Ontario Pro Challenge Series take to the Flamboro oval for the second time in 2012. Saturday, May 26th - Merrittville Speedway is coming off of a busy Victoria Day weekend and returns to action with all six regular divisions on the schedule. The highlight event will be the Triple Crown race for 4 cylinders while DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, DIRTcar Sportsman, Hoosier Stocks and Mod-Lites also take to the track. Saturday, May 26th - Peterborough Speedway gets right back at it after a successful season opener last week. A full lineup of Late Models, Mini Stocks, Renegade Trucks and Four Fun will compete. The fast and action packed Hurricane Midgets will invade the 1/3 mile for the first time in 2012 as well bringing a full field of cars. Kids will also get a chance to take some laps around the track during the Kid’s Ride Session. Pit gates open at 3pm, grandstands open at 5pm, and racing begins at 6pm. Wednesday, May 30th - Capital City Speedway enters its second week of competition after opening 2012 in front of the Rogers TV cameras last week. A full slate of Late Models, Thunder Cars, Legends, Mini Stocks and Four Fun will take to the track in competition. Racing in the Nation’s Capital begins at 7:15pm.
