May 7, 2012 - BROCKVILLE-It`s race week. For the first time since mid-October its race week in Leeds Grenville as Brockville Ontario Speedway comes to life for another season. The fast quarter mile oval will open its doors on Saturday night, May 12th for the BOB-FM Ken Seymour Memorial Race night.
A good turnout of cars hit the track on Sunday afternoon to make the final test run before the cars hit the track in anger on Saturday. One of the highlights was the night and day difference between Stephane LaFrance`s two cars. One white, and one in black. Both look fast as LaFrance tries to knock Danny O Brien from his perch atop the 358 Modified track championship, a spot O Brien has been mighty comfortable in, off and on for almost two decades.
All four regular classes will be in action as part of the 7 o clock start on Saturday night. The mighty 358 Modifieds will be joined by the ultra competitive Sportsman class with Race 101 scholarship winner Tabatha Murphy putting her new study skills to the test. The Street Stocks and Rookies always provide great entertainment for fans. The Vintage cars will also be on hand. This class continues to grow and will be almost a bi weekly fixture in 2012 thanks to McNamee Concrete.
The track is also pleased to welcome the Petro Canada car wash on Stewart Boulevard in Brockville aboard as the official supplier of washes to keep the Pace truck looking spic and span throughout the season.
