BROCKVILLE-Each year, Brockville Ontario Speedway upgrades one or two things to enhance the fan experience at the fast quarter mile clay oval. This year, Benson Auto Parts, your first choice for auto parts, has stepped up to help fans keep track of who’s winning at the Beast of the East.
The auto parts retailer with stores across Western Quebec and Eastern Ontario, including Brockville, Gananoque and Smiths Falls is helping out with a new scoreboard that will be going up in the infield of the track. It will be larger than the existing scoreboard, which in turn will be going into the Benson Auto Parts pit area to keep drivers and crews up to date there. “We have partnered with the track for several years,” says David Murphy, Marketing and Promotions guru with Benson. “We are proud to partner again with Paul and Cheryl Kirkland as the BOS continues to be an integral part of the local community economically and socially. We know that race fans and our customers will truly enjoy the new scoreboard for years to come.”
The countdown to the racing season continues with cars hitting the Beast of the East surface for the first time for a practice day from 1 until 4 pm on May 5th. The season opener is set for May 12th featuring all four regular divisions, 358 Modifieds, Sportsman, Street Stocks and Rookies in addition to the Vintage cars. The first green flag of the year will fly at 7 pm.
